Author, Rita Hensel
Observer & Eccentric Newspaper - June 2008
Author's 'Humble Stew' is fun read for kids.
Rita Hensel's first published book, Humble Stew in Going Country,
has a name which attracts attention.
Humble Stew means that life has an assortment of good and bad things. Though
one might want everything in life to be good, that doesn't always work out.
"All the experiences in life are humbling in some way and make you grow,"
Hensel said.
Hensel is both the author and illustrator of the recently released children's
book.
"There is a surprise ending that I think kids will love," said Hensel. "I
feel that I have a lot to say to children." She enjoys entertaining children at
their level and likes adventurous stories.
Hensel's 4-year old dog, Dodger, a Yorkipoo, is the only non-fiction
character in the book. His real-life fun personality carries over into the
book.

Local Author, Rita Hensel, releases first children's book.
"Humble Stew in Going Country" was written and illustrated entirely by
Hensel, who recently received her first copies of the book.
"It feels unbelievable," said Hensel, with the family pet, also named
Dodger, snuggling up to her. "I've always wanted to write a book. For a long
time I wanted to reach a goal like this."
Publish America prides itself on publishing books in which the characters
- fictional or real - overcome a number of obstacles that may seem
overwhelming, said spokesperson Shawn Street. She said that's the case with
Martin, Kendall and the kids as they adjust to life in the country.
"We also take a great deal of pride in giving unknown authors a chance."
Street said. "We believe everyone has a story to tell, and therefore, should
be given an opportunity to share it. Ms. Hensel is a very talented author
and has been a pleasure to work with. We look forward to a long and happy
relationship with her."
"Hensel said that as her series go on, more characters and antics will be
introduced.
"I have a lot of fun in store for them, so I hope this blossoms into a
great series," Hensel said. "I hope the readers will enjoy the characters
and look forward to seeing what's going to happen next.
